I’ve been curious about this place for a while. It’s inside Exxon’s gas station so you can find a space to park fairly easily. Since it’s inside a gas station, the atmosphere is what you’d expect and not comparable to that of a full scale restaurant. However, the food here tastes good. I ordered the beef noodle soup, and it comes inside a plastic bowl. There’s numerous large chunks of beef slices and each bite was tender and delicious. The broth is rich and savory, not overly salty like many other places serving Taiwanese beef noodle soup. The noodles themselves are a bit overcooked and softer than I liked. Overall, I enjoyed this quick meal. And I didn’t need to chug a water bottle afterwards, which is a plus.
I may not be an expert in Taiwanese food, but I can recognize greatness when I taste it. I have never been disappointed by a restaurant in an Exxon Mobil and I promise you, I sure wasn't disappointed this time. The staff are efficient and kind, the food was great (I got braised pork rice), and you have an amazing selection for beverages and dessert (thanks Exxon), there's even a seating area in the gas station! Give it a chance, Exxon knows how to choose their restaurant owners.
Best Taiwanese food in the DMV!!! What a hidden gem!!! It’s super cool that this place is a half Exxon gas station and a half restaurant. Very authentic Taiwanese vibes. If you have been to Taiwan you know all the great delicious local street food places are hidden somewhere in the cities or at the night markets in Taiwan. Personally, this place location is just perfect in Rockville, Maryland. This place represents everything about Taiwan so well. The staffs here are super friendly. They kept this place very clean. Most importantly, everything here on the menu is delicious !!! When I saw this place have Taiwan Apple Sidra (Taiwanese Apple Soda). I already knew this place is going to be amazing!!! All the food here is delicious and the flavors are super spot on when it comes to Taiwanese street food. People in Rockville are very lucky to have an amazing Taiwanese place in the Rockville area. Definitely you should checkout their beef noodle soup if you are a noodle lover. If you like rice, you should definitely order “Lu Rou Fan”- braised pork rice. For appetizer, definitely check out their stinky tofu. I guarantee you won’t regret it. If you want to try American Taiwanese food, just go with the chicken popcorn. Otherwise, you can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. Anyway why are you still reading the reviews? Go check out for yourself right now!!!
What a hidden gem! Very authentic Taiwanese dishes that brings me back. The popcorn chicken is a must order. Happy with everything else we ordered for dinner and we had plenty of leftover for lunch the next day. Can’t wait to return and try other dishes! Seating is limited and it is a gas station. So if you don’t like the vibe, maybe order takeout. The owners cannot be nicer.
Once you get passed the gas station setting, the food is as Taiwanese as you will get here in a restaurant. Perhaps the gas station setting makes it feel more like street side setting. The beef noodle soup had a lot more beef than anticipated, very tender and flavorful. The bento came with very good sides that accompanied the rice, pork chop and popcorn chicken well. The stinky tofu and sausages were also tasty.
